Favorite Nail Polishes from 2011

The New Year is only a few days away so I think it's time I do a Favorites of 2011 post! It has been about a year and a half since I started collecting nail polish and I have gained some lovely gems for my collection this year. I didn't really set any rules for my first favorites post. Many of these were released in 2011 however, I did throw some in that were released prior to 2011 and may have only purchased/swapped this year. When I was going through my Picasa Web Album I just chose and it just so happened I ended up with 11 favorites so here they are..

11. NYC Manhattan is one of my favorite fall/winter polishes.Not really sure when this was released but I am pretty sure it was before 2011. It's a deep Burgundy creme. I didn't have any photos of this on its own -here it's stamped with CC's Fashion Addict

10. Essie Cocktail Bling - I love this grey because it is a very soft color. It looks like it has some very light lilac-y, lavender in it which makes it really feminine.

9. Color Club Holiday Splendor - I love this glittery holo because the base isn't clear but green. So shimmery and pretty!

8. OPI Black Cherry Chutney - I'm not sure when this shade came out but I only received it as a gift this year and it is one of my favorite deep vampy shades. It's a deepened cherry shade with a little bit of shimmer.

7. NYX Gilded Glitter - Gilded Glitter is a gold flakie that can be worn over pretty much anything. It can be built up or one coat is enough for some scattered pretties over your nails.

6. OPI Its My Year - Suuuch a pretty purple shade with beautiful gold shimmers in it. Gold shimmers is actually a theme in my favorites for this year :)

5. China Glaze IDK - a purple holo, enough said! This is one that did not come out in 2011 but I only just got my hands on it thanks to a swap

5. NOPI Sea How Far You Go - This is probably one of the most interesting colors I won. Depending on the light if can reflect some olive, grey, or champagne shades. Its gorgeous!

3. China Glaze Glittering Garland - this is a beyond beautiful forest green with gold and greenglass flecks that really brighten the polish up

2. Sinful Colors Fly Away - This is probably my favorite blue that I own. Its a very bright robins egg blue creme. If you love blues this is a must IMO.

1. China Glaze White Cap - An amazing layering polish! It's a very pale milky white base with beautiful golden shimmer in it.

So there they are! My 2011 favorites. I can't wait to see what 2012 has in store for us!

Essie Sexy Divide

I have had this polish in my purse for about a month now and only just got around to using it.

This is my first post Christmas mani! I borrowed it from my friend a while ago because every time we go nail polish shopping I pick it up and look at it and put it back. Why do we do this to ourselves? One day she found it in her NP storage so she lent it to me.

Unfortunately it is a little difficut to capture it's true color. The sun is not out today so I had to make do with indoor lighting :( In these photos the purple is much more apparent due to the flash. It is much deeper in real life.

It took crummy lighting to capture the true color of this beautiful purple polish!

Merry Christmas Funky French

Over the summer I did this funky french that I loved so I decided to recreate it for a Christmas mani!

Christmas Nail Art

Christmas is this Sunday and I am running out of time to do all of the holiday manis I had planned haha - so I kind of jumbled them all into one!

Today I am showing you my Right hand because I am a lefty and my pinky came out much better on this hand :)

I just want to say a huge Kudos to China Glaze. I got a mini set of their holiday collection and the formula of all of the polishes are really amazing!

On my pinky and index finger I used ChG Winter Berry

On my ring finger I used Holly-Day

My middle finger I have on Twinkle Lights over Orly Luxe

and Alabaster on my thumb with Orly Luxe, OPI Jade is the New Black, Greenwhich Village, % Winterberry dotted on to make the Christmas Tree

I saw the Christmas tree on Pinterest and thought it was such a cute idea!

Color Club Holiday Splendor

So this holiday season I went from having about 3 greens to about 15 greens.

I added Color Club's Holiday Splendor to my collection a few weeks ago while Christmas shopping!

It's a gorgeous green holo glitter with a green (not clear) base.

I put 2 coats over one coat ChG Four Leaf Clover.

In real like it is a bit more of a true Kelly Green

China Glaze Ring in the Red

Finals week is over and all of my papers are turned in :) I rewarded myself with a little treat from Sallys. The other day I saw one of the China Glaze mini holiday sets that came with Ring in the Red, Holly-Day, Twinkle Lights, & Velvet Bow. I picked it up along with some nail art brushes and did this mani.

Look at the sparkle :) The base is 3 coats of Ring in the Red.

I used Holy day for the green dots and flakes

Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree

While on pinterest I saw these adorable fake nails and after a failed attempt at one Chirstmas

mani I added a couple of these Christmas trees to my nails :)

I started with 2 coats of Glittering Garland. After catching up on a blog posts the other day

I saw how many of you were wearing this beauty. How amazing is this polish? The application was truly perfect!

The design was really easy to create and a fun look for the holidays!

And now my obsession with this polish begins...

Walking in a Winter Wonderland

Only 11 days left until Christmas and I have all of these Christmas mani ideas running through my head!

I took another shot at a freehand Christmas manicure. Unfortunately, the only nail art brush I have was a bit

too thick for the snow flake I attempted. I just purchased some brushes at Sally's today though!

For this mani I used NYX Ink Heart as a base color and dotted on some snow with Color Club's Alabaster

My right snowflake turned out a little bit better

LA Splash Glitter

While I was on a hunt for the Wet n Wild Icon glitters (which I still have yet to find!) I came across a new LA Splash display. I picked up a couple of them hoping they would be a nice substitute until I find those damn Color Icons!

The glitter is called Vegas and for this mani I just used it over a white.

For the accent nail I stamped B14 with Orly's Luxe.

I have so many Christmas Mani ideas so I hope you don't mind if you are bombarded with them. I rarely do holiday manis so I feel like I need to catch up!

China Glaze Party Hearty

I don't believe a girl's Christmas season is complete if she never has Party Hearty on her claws at least once. I think last year's China Glaze Holiday collection was one of my favs and this was definitely the winner of the collection. As I was doing this mani I realized I am halfway through the bottle

and didn't buy a back up *slaps forehead*

I put it over Wet n Wild's Black Creme - so much better than the Finger Paints one I was using!

No chippies :)

It's a Candy Cane Christmas, Sweet as it can Be!

Finally, it is time for Christmas themed nails. My Rite Aid Snowman was just a starter

This was just a simple candy cane mani I did a few nights ago.
For the red I used China Glaze Ruby Pumps and the glitter coat is Savvy's Tinsel - very appropriate :)

Rite Aid Snowman Swatch

The other day while perusing Rite Aid I came across a picked over Snowman polish display. They only had a few glitters left - my friend chose the green and I chose this deep pink glitter. We tend to share polishes so I wasn't going to fight her for the green one ;)

I applied this over a coat of OPI's Overexposed in South Beach simply because I knew

I was not going to be in the mood to remove a glitter when it came time to take this manicure off

I always seem to get the most compliments on the least expensive polishes :)
