Sunday Surprise: Born Pretty Store 10% Off + Sinful Swatch

Hello ladies! Before I get into today's swatch I want to share a Born Pretty Store coupon code with you. All you have to do is type in the promo code RLL91 at checkout to receive 10% off your next Born Pretty Store purchase!
I have a small parcel from them coming soon that I am very eager to share you!

Now onto today's swatch. While I was browsing around the drugstore the other day picking up some travel size items for the Cali trip (which was canceled BTW!) I of course went to the beauty section to see what goodies they had waiting for me. Sinful Rain Storm was one of the polishes that caught my eye because of course, it's my favorite shade - blue. This Sinful is a real winner. It's a dusty creme that can definitely be a one coater! The formula is fabulous! This polish applied like butter. And of course the price is nothing to complain about!

Zoya Reagan

So my first post in a while comes from Zoya's Beach collection. I was really excited about Zoya's beach and surf collection, especially the cremes. Like always the formula was spot on and this mani was a simple 2 coater. I probably could have even gotten away with one coat.

Rease is interesting because its not quiet fuscia not quiet berry, its a nice in between. It's a nice bright shade but not an in your face summer color. It's a nice shade to swear in transition from summer to fall.
Speaking of, i hope you all are enjoying the last month of summer !!!!!

Revlon Colorstay Passionate Pink

I have been on somewhat of a Revlon kick recently so when I was perusing through the drug store a few weeks ago I picked up one of their new Colorstay nail polishes. A co-worker of mine gets gel manicures had a color on one day very reminiscent of this shade right here and I was absolutely obsessed with it so Passionate Pink was the color I chose to get (The color range is actually pretty decent!) The formula of this polish was really great. Two smooth creamy coats and it gave my nails a gel like look. The brust of these is a lot like the Sally Hansen Insta Dri brushes except a little smaller. I actually liked the brushes on this a lot.

Keep your eyes peeled for a String of Polish manicure next week!

Thoughts? Have you tried the new Revlon Colorstay polishes?

OPI Thanks A WindMillion

Hello blogger world! I have missed posting so much and am extremely glad my nails are back in good shape! For my return I have an OPI from the new Holland collection: Thanks a Windmillion. I didn't really own anything like this in my stash. It's not quiet mint, it's a nice mix of green, blue, and grey, almost like a sea foam green. The application was perfection, 2 easy coats.

One other reason I have not been posting is because I got a puppy! He is such a handful but look at him! He was rescued from a shelter and was living in a foster home. This was his at 8 weeks :)

So since I have been out of the loop what collections are you most looking forward to coming out?!

Favorite Nail Polishes from 2011

The New Year is only a few days away so I think it's time I do a Favorites of 2011 post! It has been about a year and a half since I started collecting nail polish and I have gained some lovely gems for my collection this year. I didn't really set any rules for my first favorites post. Many of these were released in 2011 however, I did throw some in that were released prior to 2011 and may have only purchased/swapped this year. When I was going through my Picasa Web Album I just chose and it just so happened I ended up with 11 favorites so here they are..

11. NYC Manhattan is one of my favorite fall/winter polishes. Not really sure when this was released but I am pretty sure it was before 2011. It's a deep Burgundy creme. I didn't have any photos of this on its own -here it's stamped with CC's Fashion Addict
10. Essie Cocktail Bling - I love this grey because it is a very soft color. It looks like it has some very light lilac-y, lavender in it which makes it really feminine.
9. Color Club Holiday Splendor - I love this glittery holo because the base isn't clear but green. So shimmery and pretty!
8. OPI Black Cherry Chutney - I'm not sure when this shade came out but I only received it as a gift this year and it is one of my favorite deep vampy shades. It's a deepened cherry shade with a little bit of shimmer.
7. NYX Gilded Glitter - Gilded Glitter is a gold flakie that can be worn over pretty much anything. It can be built up or one coat is enough for some scattered pretties over your nails.
6. OPI Its My Year - Suuuch a pretty purple shade with beautiful gold shimmers in it. Gold shimmers is actually a theme in my favorites for this year :)
5. China Glaze IDK - a purple holo, enough said! This is one that did not come out in 2011 but I only just got my hands on it thanks to a swap
5. NOPI Sea How Far You Go - This is probably one of the most interesting colors I won. Depending on the light if can reflect some olive, grey, or champagne shades. Its gorgeous!
3. China Glaze Glittering Garland - this is a beyond beautiful forest green with gold and greenglass flecks that really brighten the polish up
2. Sinful Colors Fly Away - This is probably my favorite blue that I own. Its a very bright robins egg blue creme. If you love blues this is a must IMO.
1. China Glaze White Cap - An amazing layering polish! It's a very pale milky white base with beautiful golden shimmer in it.

So there they are! My 2011 favorites. I can't wait to see what 2012 has in store for us!

Christmas is this Sunday and I am running out of time to do all of the holiday manis I had planned haha - so I kind of jumbled them all into one!
Today I am showing you my Right hand because I am a lefty and my pinky came out much better on this hand :)
I just want to say a huge Kudos to China Glaze. I got a mini set of their holiday collection and the formula of all of the polishes are really amazing!
On my pinky and index finger I used ChG Winter Berry
On my ring finger I used Holly-Day
My middle finger I have on Twinkle Lights over Orly Luxe
and Alabaster on my thumb with Orly Luxe, OPI Jade is the New Black, Greenwhich Village, % Winterberry dotted on to make the Christmas Tree
I saw the Christmas tree on Pinterest and thought it was such a cute idea!

Essie Cocktail Bling

Hope all of you that celebrated Thanksgiving had a great holiday
and a fun weekend. My Thanksgiving was lots of fun and I loved seeing
my family. Unfortunately, I had to work at midnight for Black Friday until 9AM!

Today I promised myself I wasn't going to paint my nails until I had gotten some homework
done.. Well that didn't happen BUT I have good reasons :)
Today I have Essie's Cocktail
I know I have mentioned on here before how Essie and I do not get along, but I had
good luck with this formula!
This is two coats - went on smooth and easy!
I don't own many grey's so when I saw this in the store I had to pick it up!
I added some bling of my own with a glitter polish from Savvy that I picked up at Sally's one day.

Models Own Pure Purple

Well hello! Hope you all had a great weekend. Are you American's as eager for Thanksgiving as I am?? I have family coming on Wednesday and will be prepping until then -buying pies and yummy treats!

Today I have another mani inspired by a photo I found on pinterest.
I used Models Own Pure Purple, which I won from OMGPolishEm's give away ages ago!
I wish i had more access to Models Own polishes. Their formula is amazing.
The two cremes I have tried so far have been so opaque, apply evenly, and wear fairly well.
I added a stripe of OPI's It's My Year to give it a little sparkle :)
As you can see I ended up with a different look due to all the little glitters, and not many hex glitters, but I love it just the same.

China Glaze Secret Periwinkle

Hello girls, Happy Friday :)
I'm pretty excited for this weekend. I work in retail and actually have the weekend OFF!

Today, I have on China Glaze's Secret Periwinkle. I have nothing like this color. It's not quiet blue, not quiet purple - it is the perfect periwinkle. I only noticed this in the permenant China Glaze display at my Sally's recently.
This is 2 coats. Some people have complained that this formula is really thick and goopy. While, I did find it a little bit thick I have definitely worked with MUCH worse.

Since I will be out of work for the beautiful weekend I am finally going to get around to wearing some of my untried Holo's.

Have a great weekend!

OPI Swatches: Just Groovy & Hot and Spicy

The only thing better than shopping your own stash, is shopping your best friend's stash.
Every once in a while I like to browse my best friend's pretties!
I picked out a few last time I was over there:
Hot and Spicy from the Hong Kong Collection is a really pretty orange creme. Application on this was was smooth, a little streaky in the beginning but after 2 coats it looked pretty damn good :)
This was the mani I was wearing the day my middle finger broke :( My nails were doing so well!

I also borrowed Just Groovy which she purchased from Aveyou.com (which we just realized is about 20 minutes from our town!)
I felt 'meh' about this one. Probably because I have so many colors like it :p
On my accent nail I have Funky Fingers Sand and Stilettos

BONUS: Here is a pedi photo from the beginning in my summer break. I actually went and had a pedicure done

This is Misa's Fire Coral

SpaRitual Crystal Eyes

About a month ago my friend won an Aveyou contest on Twitter and won a $100 gift certificate.
She was kind enough to get my my first SpaRitual! After she won the contest we realized this place is about 20 minutes from where we live.
After much deliberation I chose Crystal Eyes, a creamy mid tone blue.
Application of this was great. I think a thick coat could be okay if you needed an easy one coater.
I ended up doing a patriotic mani by complete accident but I really wanted to use this stamp (BM20)
Over all I am very impressed with this SpaRitual.

What are some of your Sparitual favs?
