Chanel Joues Contraste Blush In Love

I have gone this long without owning any Chanel JC blushes. I was lurking around e-bay a little while back and came across a seller of display size Chanel blushes, and all these other lovely Chanel products. Instead of paying the $42.00 for the standard packaging, I received this for $30. the only downside is that it is not as travel friendly (it does come with a plastic cover). But it was a beautiful color for a cheaper price so I though it was worth it.

This bush is what I wanted Nars Orgasm to be. It is more sheet, and less glittery than Orgasm, which is why I love it so much more. Chanel's In Love is the same beautiful coral - peach color with golden shimmer that blends beautifully onto the skin. The texture is velvety and definitely worth the splurge if you have some spare cash!

L'Oreal Now You Sea Me

I have been on a huge drugstore kick recently which lead me to discover the wonderful world of L'Oreal polishes. I purchased Now You Sea Me - a slightly dusted teal. The application of this was a little funny - the first coat goes on very thin and a little streaky. The second coat however goes on much better. This is two coats and a top coat of Sally Hansen Insta Dri. The brush is something I loved about this polish as well. not to big and not to small and the bristles are perfectly straight as you can see in the photo below.

I definitely plan on purchasing more of these L'Oreal polishes in the future !

Nyx Megashine Lip gloss: Burgundy

If you are a lipgloss fan and don't own any of the NYX Megashine glosses I suggest you go out and buy the range. Well, maybe not not all 61 colors but at least some of your favs! The shade I am showing you today is Burgundy - a nice Burgundy / berry wine color.

This particular gloss has some sparkles in it but nothing noticeable (or gritty feeling on your lips) at all. This gloss has so much shine without the gooey, sticky feeling. The pigmentation is really good as you can see: the photo below is Burgundy on with no liner or lipstick underneath. These babies sell for under $5 as well = great quality lip gloss for a reasonable price!

The color range is from one extreme to another. I believe they have clear gloss and then there are nudes, bright shades, and vampy ones! Some have shimmer while others don't. They pretty much have a gloss for everyone!

Do you own any of the NYX Mega Shine Glosses? What shades do you love?

Revlon Scented Nail Polish Mint Gelato

This is a bit of a throw back found in the archives of my Picasa.
This lovely shade of mint is Revlon's Mint Gelato, from their scented polish line.
This really does have a nice scent of mint to it - almost chocolate mint! This polish is a jelly so it is very sheer and took around 3 coats for opacity.
This reminds me of a greener version of China Glaze's For Audrey.
These polishes are really shiny but I do hate wearing polish without a top coat but you could definitely get away without it.

Thanks for reading xox

P.S. Don't forget to enter my giveaway that ends on February 19th!

Maybelline Colorsensational Vivids Review

Happy Hump Day! I know I am due for a nail post but I broke my middle finger so badly - I need to wait for it go grow in properly! So to make up for it I am going to share with you my thoughts on the new line of Lipsticks from Maybelline, the Colorsensational Vivids.

The Maybelline Colorsensational Vivids are probably the best lipsticks in the drugstore at the moment. I usually never purchase more than one product of the same range at a time but I just could not resist these stunning shades. I purchased #895 On Fire Red and #870 Shocking Coral.
Shocking Coral is a pinker coral lipstick - very nice if orange doesn't suit you, or scares you a bit!
On Fire Red is a vibrant red shade

The Vivids are made with honey nector so they are a very nourishing lipstick. They glide on really nicely and have a nice smooth texture. The honey also gives the lipsticks the same scent as the original  colorsensationals.

These truly are vivid shades. The lipsticks are really opaque on the lips and color pay off is great.
The vivds have a nice sheen to them as well - almost comparable to Mac's Lusers - but in all honesty I think these are better.

I found the wear time to be about two hours. I wore On Fire Red one night out and retouched once throughout the night which isn't too bad!

Maybelline did a great job with these lipsticks - the shade range, the formula. I think they really hit the nail on the head in what a lipstick should be!

Have you tried any of the colorsensational lipsticks?
Which is your favorite?

January 2013 Favorites

It is my favorite time of the month! Favorites posts & videos. This month I have been focusing on my skin and have not been doing much makeup, mostly because I am too lazy in the morning at 7:30AM to do a complete face. Since this is also my first favorites I thought I would show you essential products that are ALWAYS in my makeup/beauty routine
  • BareMinerals The Shinging Moment Limunizer: review here
  • Revlon Colorstay Whipped Foundation review here
  • Mac Careblend Powder This is my first compact but it is quite a nice powder. It's very smooth and gives nice coverage. Prior to this I used the Mac MSFN but I broke mine, unfortunately.  find this has a little bit more coverage than the MSFN.
  • L'Oreal Liner Intense felt tip liner I have been using this for years now. It's the only liner I will use on my upper lash line.  It allows you to draw such precise lines and it lasts ALL DAY.
  • Nars Luster: Nars blushes are hands down my favorite. I purchased this because this seems to be in everyone's top three Nars blushes. It is a nice apricot shade with gold shimmers. It's a great everyday blush, going out blush, I wanna be lazy and wear minimal makeup blush lol - seriously, it's great with any kind of look. I find Nars blushes to be very long lasting as well.
  • Elizabeth Arden body lotion + Perfume. I found this while cleaning out my bathroom cabinets. I'm assuming I received it in a gift set and just never used it. I am so glad I found it because the scent is a lovely fresh burst of green tea. It lingers quiet nicely also. I also found a sample size of this in it's perfume form - lovely as well! I would suggest being careful if you have sensitive skin. I did read a lot of negative reviews saying the body lotion gave them a rash.
  • Origins A Perfect World Antioxidant Moisturizer with white tea +  A Perfect World White Tea skin guardian. During Cyber Monday I was browsing the Origins site and found The Perfect World set that contained these two products plus a face wash and toner. The brand states that this line has all of these wonderful anti-aging benefits which was what I was looking for. These two items really stood out to me. My skin has been drier than usual this winter and I find this is the only moisturizer in my small collection that really moisturizes my skin enough. I apply this morning and night as soon as I wash my face. There have been complaints that this doesn't sink into the skin right away but I always apply my moisturizer when my skin and hands are damp to help it absorb into my skin quicker. I love the scent of this! The white tea gives it a very soothing and relaxing feeling. The skin guardian has been my go to 'primer.' While this is not it's purpose it does have silicone (which does not effect my skin negatively) so it does a good job at filling in pores and fine lines. It makes your skin feel like silk! The main purpose of this is to protect your skin from pollutants in the air. I really like it as a barrier for my skin.I have not been using these products enough to see anti aging benefits but they are lovely products nonetheless.
  • C.O. Bigelow Rose Salve - for my lips I have not been sticking to one specific color but I always  put this on my lips - it is basically glorified vaseline but it smells much nicer (it also comes in mint and strawberry I believe). This stuff is also great if you have try patches of skin or problem cuticles

What are some of your monthly favorites?
