Peachy Keen Polka Dots

Hello! I have a July favrites post, I promise. My camera chip broke and I need to purchase a new one so I can take pics of my July favs!
I  have a dotticure to hold you over, though!

For the base I used China Glaze's Peachy Keen. The dots were
done with Color CLub's Alabaster and L'Oreal's Orange You Jealous.

I hope to have my Favorites up by the end of the week!

Maybelline Polka Dot Nail Polish: Pretty in Polka

Guess whos nubs are back!? Thats right - My nails are re-gaining their strength and are in much better condition!

For my nail re-introduction I am showing you one of Maybelline's new polishes from the Polka Dot collection. The Polka Dot collection contains 5 Jelly based polishes with black and white hex glitters.
The one I am showing you today is Pretty in Polka. Pretty in Polka is a bright jelly rose shade with large and small hex and circular glitters.

All 5 polishes are very reminiscent of Indie polishes such as Connect the Dots by Lynnderella, minus the bar and square pieces. So if you are looking for indie dupes - these provide you with some variety and are really great for layering. They retail for around $4, so the price is right too.

In this photo I am wearing Pretty in Polka over America Apparel's Dynasty - a dusty purple shade.

Have you tried the Maybelline Polka Dots Show Colors?

Jindie Nails Honey Blue Blue

"......cuz you better red-neck-ognize!"  - Jindie Nails
Even though I think this show is an awful disgrace, I do love this nail polish.

Honey Blue Blue is a medium robins egg blue cream // jelly base, with multiple sized blue and green glitters. The application of this was easy peasy. There was no balding issues and the glitters applied effortlessly.
I usually put underwear under glitter polishes, so for this one I used 2 coats of Honey Blue Blue over L'Oreal's Now You Sea Me.

Jindie Nail polishes can be purchased here and here

And in case you are unfamiliar with what this all means ... here you go

L'Oreal Orange You Jealous? Spring 2013 Trendsetter Collection

Happy Hump Day! Normally I would have a March favorites post for today but honestly, I just used a whole bunch of different items this month. I will make sure to have plenty for next month though!

Today I have a polish from L'Oreal's Spring 2013 Trendsetter collection. This is Orange You Jealous?

As far as my past 3 manis go, the application has been less than perfect. With this polish it was somewhat disappointing because I have atheL'Oreal polish in Now You Sea Me sported here, which is perfect! Unfortunately, Orange You Jealous was streak and a bit patchy. However the color is just what I was looking for. This is a mix between a peachy coral, mango. MMM, mango. This appears to have some pink undertones which I think takes away from the orange shade it should which is fine because true oranges dont look tje best on my skintone be.

Shade, no flash

 Sunlight, no flash:

Did you purchase any of the Trendsetter polishes?

Emily De Molly Somber Party

Happy Friday Eve! Today I have an indie polish to show you guys from my Llarowe order.
If you are unfamiliar with Llarowe or any other indie brands I highly suggest taking a look at her store.

This polish is by Emily de Molly and it's called Somber Party. Somber Party is a light grey purple with pink purple micro glitters.
I was able to get this opacity with two some what thick coats. This polish was really easy to work with. I didn't have issues with goopy-ness, texture or anything - it was a very smooth application.
Emily de Molly has many many gliter polishes that I will be stocking up on with my next Llarowe order.

Thanks for stopping by!

Revlon Colorstay Provence

I have been in the mood for some pale shades recently and discovered this gem from the Revlon Colorstay nail polish line. (They also have a really nice pale yellow shade called Buttercup that I have my eye on). This shade is called Provence - a very muted pale purple creme.
This formula is pretty nice (maybe just a tad thick), I was able to achieve this in 2 coats.

Do you own and/or love any of the shades form the Revlon Colorstay Range?

Pirates of the Caribbean Release NOTD!

So, I was not WOWED by the OPI POTC collection when it first came out, as so many collections
seem to unimpress me these days, but as time goes on I grow to love them! My sister ended up buying the mini set from Ulta the other day. When I was going back and forth between what I wanted to wear on my nails today I decided what they hey, and tried one of the minis!

I chose Skull and Glossbones and added some polka dots to it :)

From 2011-05-18

The application of this was really good. It went on smooth and was perfect in 2 coats.

I saw this polka dot design on tumblr but it did not have a water mark so I do not know who it belongs to!

I did the dots with the back of a sewing needle and my dotting tool.

I used ChG For Audrey and Sally Hansen Insta Dry in Jade Jump

From 2011-05-18

I quiet like it :)

What POTC mani's are you sporting for the release of the movie!?

Sally Hansen Insta Dry Blue Away + My New Ring!

Its raining, it's pouring! Jersey is going to be getting rain ALL week.
Luckily I snapped these pics before it started pouring the other day.

I have been wearing Sally Hansen's Blue Away for the past couple of days. I bought this because I thought it would be close to OPI's WWTC? (which I swapped away becuase I wasn't a fan of the formula.) BUT on my nails Blue Away dried a bit brighter. Regardless, its gorgeous! The formula is like all the other SH Insta dri's. Its pretty opaque in one coat
but I always go for two.

Also, here is one of the coolest rings I have come across

ENjoy the rest of your week :)

Recent NOTD Swatches

Final grades are in & now I can finally relax! I ended up with a 3.7 GPA for my first semester of grad school which isn't too shabby after being out of school for 8 months, and having to cope with my father being in and out of the hospital for a majority for the semester.

I had a good kick off to the summer last night @ my cousins graduation party. Her family is always a good time :)
---------------------
Ok, on to the swatches..This post is going to be quiet picture heavy since I have been a little backed up on my NOTD

Last Friday I attended a Gala for the non-profit organization my Advanced Public Relations class was working with.
I wore a simple black cocktail dress from J-Crew and decided to do a neutral nail, but I wanted to add a little pizazz!
I wore Essie's Jazz (my favorite nude) and added some China Glaze White Cap.

I still believe that White Cap can make any shade look amazing.

My friend is also a nail polish collector and we occasionally borrow a few shades from each other every now & then.
One of the shades I borrowed was OPI Rumple's Wiggin. I am obsessed with this shade and am considering
going to get one of my own. The Skrek Collection has probably been my favorite collection OPI has released.

When then Sinful .99 cent sale was going on MUA kept suggesting getting Mint Apple. It is a gorgeous mint green shade with hints of shimmer. I need to re-do my nails this color again - the first SC polish I painted my nails was shrunk by SV. So when I painted my nails this color I used a SH Acrylic Top coat. huge mistake. it was terrible and make the polish crinkle?? Weird.

So this beauty is definitely now apart of my top 10 favorite nail polishes. This is Sinful Color's Fly Away. Its a gorgeous bright medium blue cream. I. Am. Obsessed. This was the first Sinful I tried and I am really impressed. It was opaque and the wear would have been wonderful if SV didn't shrink it :(

Finally, here is Essie's Haute as Hello. I wanted this so bad last summer and it was such a disappointment for me.
Me and Essie's Neon's just do not play well together. I wasn't a fan of the formula and it ended up being more orange than I had hoped.

NOTD: Zoya Savita

Today's NOTD is a matte, my only one!
The first time I tried this I didn't even get around to putting on a second coat
before deciding I hated mattes. Today I decided I should give it one more
shot before getting rid of it.

(CLICK FOR BIGGER IMAGE)
I am really glad I gave it a second chance. Its a really pretty deep purple with
a little pink shimmers GAW-GEOUS
The pink was even more apparent (in real life) with a top coat.

Now I am thinking of ordering some of the new summer mattes!

Shredded Tape Mani

Last week I received a few Avon polishes. Since my blog thus far has consisted of mostly
blue I figured I would share a green with you guys!
This is Electric Green from Avon. This is my first polish from Avon but I have heard
this particular one is a bit thinner than the other polishes.
This is 2 coats, the 2nd one a bit thicker to make it more opaque.

It is a really nice bright green with yellow undertones - GREAT for summer

I also bought one of the new Petite Color Fever polishes a couple of weeks ago and thought
it would look great over Electric Green! Daze is a bright, almost lime green with pretty glitters in it!
This is 2 coats of Daze over Electric Green
Finally, I finalized the mani with a tape design created by the ever so creative Chloe!
I usually can never stay satisfied with a polish for more than 1-2 days so I thought
this was a good way to change it up everyday!

Pink Fauxnad Fun

The past couple of days I have been browsing tumblrs dedicated
to nail art.
There is such amazing creativity on tumblr its unbelievable
Needless to say, I was totally inspired & replicated a fauxnad
mani:
On my pinky I used one of the new Sally Hansen Insta-Dries in Rose Rush. I stamped it with BM19. On my ring finger I used OPI's Show It and Glow It (borrowed from a darling friend). I painted my middle finger Flawless by Essie and stamped it with BM17
On my index finger I used OPI's I Think in Pink and stamped it with BM02 using Konad white and Sally Hansen Rose Rush. I used American Apparel's Dynasty on my thumb and 2 images from BM17.

OPI Senorite Rose-alita

This GORGEOUS color is not something I would normally pick up.
However, I was perusing around my mom's bathroom yesterday and found OPI's Senorita Rose-alita.
Didn't think much of it until I picked it up and saw the really pretty gold shimmer.

Senorita Rose-alita is a really pretty rosey, mid-tone, pink. The application was pretty much perfection-so smooth and easy!

Can't wait to put this one on my toes!

China Glaze Dorothy Who?

Ever have a horrible nail week? This past week was a really bad one for me!
I think I went nekkid for 2 days. I was unsatisfied with everything I put on.
My Seche Vite was getting a bit thick & I didn't have Seche Restore on me at the time-
which resulted in tip wear within a few hours. This was the only mani I snapped a few
photos of before the tips started to wear.

China Glaze Dorothy Who? is such a pretty glittery blue.

I had a lot of rouble with this polish though. this was only my first time using is for a full 10 finger mani lol
I think I used it as an accent finger one before that. However, it was so goopy is was almost impossible
to work with.

Hopefully this week will be better for me ahah
I borrowed a few polishes from a friend who has a big stash also.

Color Club Fashion Addict

Since the sun was out today and the weather is the warmest its been in ages I had to do a holo.
Color Club's Fashion Addict is probably the prettiest holo I own (however, if I owend some of China Glaze's OMG's it would be a different story).

I have had this untried for a while & worried that it might be a dud, but even in artificial light its gorgeous!

& since I can't seem to keep my nails with just polish anymore, I had to add a BM.
This is BM19 with Black Konad Polish

I am thinking about doing a small giveaway if I reach 50 subscribers.
Let me know what kinds of polishes you would like to see!

NYC Manhattan

Unfortunately, I have no St. Patty's mani to share with you today.
But I do have one of my favorite vampy burgundy shades.
This is NYC's Manhattan and it amazing!
2 coats gets your this really pretty berryish color, and 3 gets you a really
great almost black vamp shade. Application was super smooth
and the wear was really decent.
This is my only NYC color but it has me wanting more !
I stamped it with some Color Club Fashion Addict (BM10)
Its really subtle but I really like it.
